  Transmog.......is it worth it??
April 20th
From Shinn's Tales of Gold

Transmog.......its a funny market I find, because there doesn't seem to be set pattern of sales. I find like in real life everyone is different. So I have been thinking of how to get more sales in this market.

Do I just keep posting what stock I have and not worry about trying to find out what people want?
Selling this way would be the easy option, but if I did keep going this way the most I make is around three thousand gold a week. I still think I'm going to work this way a little bit, so I can sell off old stock and pick up some of them random sales. But I don't see this as my long term plan for Transmog!!

Do I start only selling items that I have sold before, by checking the Accounting Module on TradeSkillMaster?
This option isn't going to work, because I don't sell many items more than once, apart from the shirts that you can buy from Dalaran. So lets bin this idea lol.

Happy Birthday WTBGold! / Cold is Going Down
April 18th
By WTBGold From WTBGold

Have two quick announcements for everyone today.

SHOWDOWN First, Cold from Cold's Gold Factory was talking trash earlier on Twitter about how much better he is than me at Hearthstone Less logic. Moar one shot. In his defense, he was totally right, BUT it gives us an opportunity to create a grudge out of nothing and give you guys a show! :-D So, we're going to stream a best-of-5 Hearthstone showdown between his Shaman deck and my Hunter deck on Saturday shortly after 7PM. You can follow us on Twitter (Cold - Reckles) to make sure you make it or just go Subscribe to me on Twitch.tv/WTBGold. Clearly the best class in Hearthstone against a few totems...I wish him luck.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Secondly, it's WTBGold's birthday today! A little over a year ago, I wanted to start sharing my ideas on WoW goldmaking so I asked Jim over at PowerWord:Gold if he had any tips. Turns out he's written a whole post on how to start a blog. Since then WTBGold has spread out into youtube, gained 2000 followers there, and is just about to break the half a million view mark.

For the Record: March 2014 Glyph Sales
April 17th
From Twitchie Enterprises

March was my last month before my realm was connected, and I still fell just short of the 100k glyph revenue. You know why? I was busy being an awesome warlock.

Stats:

Total Glyph Sales: 97595g

Total Glyphs Sold: 1012

Average Price: 96g44s
Would you look at that average price? It is fantastic so see such a great return, even if my glyph posting schedule fell off towards the end of the month.

In random recollections from last month, Twitchie scored the 'Proven Assailant' title. Thanks to Soco and Jim for pointing me in the right direction when through a series of action bar mishaps, I disenchanted a trinket right before a proving grounds attempt. The item restoration service is wonderful, and my handy darkmoon faire trinket was a great backup.

I also found some great glyph source information in Stede's post Full Set of TSM Group Import Strings for All Glyphs. 444 Glyphs. I'll be using that information to update my database, since Stede has made sure that the glyph source information is definitive (which is tricky for glyphs that can be learned from multiple sources).

Garrisons and Gold Making: What We Know
April 15th
From Phat Lewts' WoW Gold Blog

As you may have heard, Blizzard is planning a 4 part series of blogs on Garrisons Soon™, but we've been getting bits and pieces of information from Blizzard interviews as well as datamined information. Quite honestly I'm kind of disappointed on how Blizzard is blatantly dragging their feet on releasing information, but I guess they have a long time to stretch it out over.

An important thing that we have learned so far is that "Garrisons are tied to every aspect of max-level tradeskills so if you want to advance your tradeskills, you have to build that up in your garrison." I'm going to try and summarize what we know so far, of course related mostly to gold making.

Garrison Levels Everything involved with Garrisons, both buildings and the actual Garrison itself have 3 levels. Level 1 is the base level you receive, and you have to work up to Level 2 and Level 3. The exact mechanics on how you do this for each is not yet established, and I'm not going to speculate on that at this point. Just assume it involves some sort of work/grind/thought.

  3 Years of Phat Lewts!
April 19th
From Phat Lewts' WoW Gold Blog

So I missed it by about a week, but April 12th, 2011 was the date of the first post ever posted on Phat Lewts' Gold Blog, making this past April 12th 3 years since my first post!

Taking a Look Back
So let's look back to that original post, the one that got things started. As you know I'm generally not one for fanfare, so there was no "introduction post" to Phat Lewts' Gold Blog, just a post titled Accountant. Receiving a whopping 87 views to this very date, my first post was a bit of a dud. You can check it out, I edited the text formatting a bit. The original text was black and impossible to read on my current background, but I preserved the wonky layout and text of the original. You may also notice I was posting under the name Dwhittman, which at the time the name of my main character (an Orc Warlock).

  World Gold-Making Invitational 2014
April 16th
By GoblinRaset From The Drunken Mogul

So what had happened was, Killerdamage and I were chatting with WowProfitz on his livestream, and Killerdamage made a remark about getting me to come play on his server with him. Now with my hectic life as it is I really don't have much spare time to actually play the game as it is supposed to be played, so I stick mostly to the AH game. Anyways, I told him that if I came over there all I would do was play the AH, then of course he counters with “Good luck, I control most of the AH”. Which of course, them are fightin' words, to a gold-maker, so we ended up talking about a challenge. Of course since we were on a livestream others expressed some interest in joining in on the fun, so we discussed it and decided to open up the contest to anyone who wanted to test there mettle against us. The rules are simple, and can be found below.
The Contest will take place on Mannoroth – Horde (US), Burning Blade – Alliance (EU)

Drunken Musings of Insane Goldmakers #12: Time Travelin’
April 16th
By GoblinRaset From The Drunken Mogul

Over the last couple weeks we have had an influx if “new” news, meaning we already had a good idea of what was coming (at least from a goldmaking standpoint). Though there were some tidbits that caught our attention, so we discuss how some of these changes will affect us in the upcoming expansion, as well as the fun we had for April Fools Day. I also announce the Gold Making Invitational of 2014, that I am running with my good friend @KillerDamage.

What We Do:
The Undermine Journal reads most of a realm's Auction House data about once every hour. This fine and consistent granularity of data provides statistical information that was previously impossible or impractical to obtain.

Data is collected for every item on the auction house, except for randomly-enchanted weapons and armor.
What You Do:
  1. Type an item or seller in the search textbox above. Try Icethorn if you can't think of anything.
  2. Click "Search." If you see a list of items or sellers, pick one.
  3. Explore. The descriptions should help you use the information presented. Click the title of this publication to return to this front page.
  4. Click a section under our heading. Mouseover major categories in the black strip to show links directly underneath. Pages specific to professions and other interests are available.
Thanks
Thanks go to the folks at Ars Technica, who have always helped with support and advice on function and design.

Thanks to the Blizzard Web Development Team. Auction House on the Armory was a brilliant idea.

Thanks to the World of Warcraft web community, whose support and encouragement is much appreciated. Thanks specifically to Wowhead; WoW on the Web would be a much poorer place without them.

Thanks to the folks at Google for their nifty Chart API.
